On May 26, 2022, a meeting took place at the Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria between the Ombudsman, Professor Diana Kovacheva, the Chairman of the National Union of Labour-Production Cooperatives in Bulgaria (NULPC), Mr. Bozhidar Stanchev, and the Deputy Chairman of the NULPC, Associate Professor Vladislav Lazarov, D.Sc.

The meeting focused on future cooperation between the Office of the Ombudsman and the NULPC, in its capacity as a nationally representative organization for persons with disabilities. Professor Kovacheva expressed a positive view regarding the cooperative system. Discussions covered current issues and challenges concerning cooperatives and their future development, social policy, the concerns of persons with disabilities, and the creation of conditions for social entrepreneurship. The participants agreed to join forces to effectively pursue their shared interests within the sphere of the social and solidarity economy.
