On December 22, 2021, a meeting took place at the Presidency between Vice President Iliana Iotova, the Chairman of the National Union of Labor-Production Cooperatives, Bozhidar Stanchev, and the Chairman of the City Union of Labor-Production Cooperatives, Assoc. Prof. Vladislav Lazarov, D.Sc. The discussion focused on the topic: "Social Entrepreneurship within Specialized Enterprises and Cooperatives for People with Disabilities."

Vice President Iotova expressed the Presidency’s readiness to provide support and engage in a partnership with the unions of labor-production cooperatives in the sphere of the social and solidarity economy. She also indicated an interest in participating in the annual European Forum for Social Entrepreneurship. The discussion covered opportunities for creating employment for people with disabilities, as well as the active involvement of these cooperatives—through projects and programs—in the Recovery and Resilience Plan for the upcoming programming period.
