With the mission of shifting the focus toward cooperatives and social economy enterprises—and highlighting the work of individuals from vulnerable groups—the 14th International Social Economy Forum opened yesterday with an official ceremony at the Inter Expo Center.
The forum is one of the most significant events on the calendar of the National Union of Labor-Productive Cooperatives (NUWPC) and is organized with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. Once again, the cause has garnered the backing of state officials, politicians, representatives of various institutions, local authorities, the academic community, and the diplomatic corps.
Following the official welcoming remarks, the opening ceremony featured a performance by a folklore ensemble from the "Ivan Bogorov" School (School No. 140) and a fashion show by students from the Fashion program at the South-West University "Neofit Rilski."
Attendees had the opportunity to explore the stands of social and solidarity economy enterprises, learn about their activities, and purchase products that support a social cause.
The event also included a conference titled "Labor-Productive Cooperatives and Social Enterprises in a Changing Economic and Social Environment."
The exhibition at the Inter Expo Center continues today, and admission for visitors is free.
